Agriculture
This course covers an introduction to agriculture history and California agriculture. Students will gain a working knowledge of the factors that influence plant growth, soil classification techniques and the different types of irrigation. The carbon and nitrogen cycles will be explained as well as how changes in climate impact agriculture. Organic farming, integrated pest management and local food distribution will also be covered. Careers in the agriculture fields will be explored as well as social business exploration.
